Overview

The use of generative AI (specifically in the form of chatbots such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) has become commonplace in education, work, and day-to-day life. These tools can help students learn the course material, but can also hinder their understanding and acquisition of skills if used in the wrong way.

The second EENE multi-site study examines how students and instructors used GenAI in their courses during Spring 2025, and how it changed over the course of the term. As a spin-off project, we are combining the Cornell survey data with assessment data to see how use of GenAI predicts student learning.
